We’ve had the pleasure of working with Joseph Petersen / J.W.P. Wood now for over five years.
He has crafted for our primary residence many fine built-ins and cabinets, and also recently completed a full kitchen renovation. Working with a certified electrician, Joseph took care of the kitchen’s demolition, haul-away, permitting and bringing everything up to the code. Then, the installation of absolutely gorgeous walnut cabinets lined with dove-tailed maple drawers and cupboards. He also undertook the appliance installation and final, successful permit sign-off with our local municipality. And finally he painted the entire kitchen! All this took place within 30-days, once he had completed the cabinetry, off-site. We could not be more pleased!
Joseph has in the past come to our residence to listen and discuss with us what we would like to accomplish, and then renders marvelous -CAD drawings so that one can see the plan and dimensional effect. It is a highly tailored and customized process, but Joseph undertakes all the heavy lifting!
His sense of the aesthetic and artistry with his cabinetry manufacturer is exquisite. The end result will bring a lifetime of utility and satisfaction. We highly recommend Joseph Petersen / J.W.P. Wood!

JP is truly an artist! We found him on custommade and low and behold he is only a few miles from our home. We met him and he quickly drew up a preview of what we wanted. His skill and eye for detail and design came through in the final products. He has turned our home into a one of a kind art gallery with the two beautiful walnut tables he created. We await the coffee table and sofa table that he is working on now! Our friends are in awe of his workmanship! So happy we found him and he is our neighbor! We watched this project as he progressed!!

JP did an amazing job on all the projects in my renovation. I framed windows, knocked out a wall, added a bookshelf, did two custom shelves, two custom closets and a hallway cabinet. I can’t say enough about how honest, reliable, professional and timely JP was. He was always available to discuss any concerns and made sure everything was exactly what I wanted. I had several contractors working on my house on various things (plumber, electrician, general contractor) and I have to say JP was the best. I would highly recommend him for any carpentry project.

I was looking for a custom made outdoor bench to fit on my small front porch, would allow at least three people to sit comfortably, and would not take up too much of the limited space. I found Joseph on Custom Made Marketplace. He was very responsive to my inquiry, asked the right questions, and quickly had a proposal in my place. He built my bench quickly and well, keeping me up to date on the progress all along. I had a really great experience with Joseph, love my custom bench, and highly recommend him!
